Shuffling back and forth between proper sunny Spring day and light hail, when the weather decided to turn up on the former option we went out to Weston Park to meet the ducks!
In Singapore, all the trees always have their leaves on and they are always green. Well, save for the one time a few years back when we had the longest drought in many years. Other than that yes, whenever most of us spot a bare tree it is something of an unusual sight.
We then walked towards City Centre. The day before, we knew that the Queen will be visiting Sheffield for Maundy Thursday but we did not know where. As we walked, the nearer we were we spotted a lot of police cars around and thought we must be near the place of her visit. The question was: Was she still around or has she left?
A huge crowd greeted us as we neared the Sheffield Town Hall. Thinking she must still be around because there was still a crowd, we decided to wait a while in hopes of catching a glimpse of the Queen. Sure enough, less than ten minutes later as luck would have it, there she was, walking down the steps of the town hall in turquoise with Prince Philip! It was surreal, to be able to now say I've caught a glimpse of the Queen with my own eyes. My friends didn't believe me!
As the crowd dispersed, we left and noticed snipers were poised on nearby rooftops. This is real..!
